* Last summer's 2 Adirondack
chairs and a footstool were won by Cathy Christensen.
~ This summer, a beautiful multi-colored
"Friendship" quilt handcrafted by the Edinburg Town
Hall Quilters will be raffled to benefit the society. Below is
the finished quilt. It measures approximately 84" x 108".
Tickets
are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and are available at the Museums,
our events, from local businesses, and Society members.

March 18, 2008:
First meeting of the year--all welcome. No speaker.
April 15, 2008:
Regular meeting and regional author Rev.Terrance O'Neill will
tell us about murder in the Adirondacks by way of his novel "Till
Death Us Do Part".
May 20, 2008:
Regular meeting and Kristine Saddlemire, Saratoga County Historian,
will present her research on "The Underground Railroad in
Saratoga County".
June 17, 2008:
Regular meeting and Steve Engelhart, Executive Director of the
Adirondack Heritage (AARCH) will present "Adirondack Architecture:
Great Camps and the Rustic Tradition."
July 15, 2008:
Regular meeting and Ed Reed, DEC big game biologist, will share
his work with bears in a program entitled "Bear Problems
and Solutions".
August 19, 2008: Regular meeting and Priscilla Edwards, Town
Historian, and Alois Matousek will relate the historical significance
of the Batchellerville Presbyterian Church and the Edinburg United
Methodist Church respectively.
September 16, 2008: Annual business meeting.
October 21, 2008: Regular meeting and Roland Kays, curator of
mammals at the New York State Museum, will present "Coyote
and Fisher: New York State's Most Successful Predators".
November 18, 2008: Last meeting of the year and pre-holiday gathering.
